ERAAAD has expertise in evidence-based health management utilizing epidemiology for aquatic health issues in cold-water and warm-water food animal production, including:
- Outbreak investigations & risk factor studies
- Surveillance
- Diagnostic test evaluation
- Disease control strategies and clinical field trials
- Quantitative analytic support for regional and national/international research
- Decision support tools to deliver evidence-based outcomes to all levels of policy makers
- Risk assessment
- GIS and mathematical modelling
- Bioinformatics and biostatistical methods for analysing genetic information
- Fish health economics
ERAAAD is a collaborative program between Norwegian Veterinary Institute (NVI) and the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC, at University of PEI) and accesses specialists in both institutions to assist with aquatic health research and training projects throughout the world.
Project requests from policy decision bodies (e.g. government agencies, industry associations) are welcomed. For consideration, requests should go to either of the Co-Directors ((Larry Hammell- lhammell@upei.ca or Edgar Brun- edgar.brun@vetinst.no).
